Promofy Nigeria Limited is hiring an experienced Accountant to own the finances of a fast-moving online retail and delivery business. If you understand ecommerce, respect detail, and can look at a day of transactions and tell us exactly where we stand — read on.
Promofy Nigeria Limited is a fast-growing online store. Customers across Nigeria order our products online, and we deliver to them on a pay-on-delivery basis — the customer orders, we confirm, and our delivery agents take the product to the customer's door and collect the money.
Here's the part that matters for this role: we process more than 100 transactions every single day, handled by many different delivery agents spread across the country. Every one of those orders involves money changing hands — a product going out, cash coming in, and an agent who must remit what they collected. Multiply that by every agent, every day, and you can see why we need someone who can keep all of it straight.
As our Accountant, you are the one person who knows — to the naira — how the business is actually doing. You won't be doing textbook accounting; you'll be tracking real money moving through real hands, every day, and turning it into a clear picture of profit and loss that leadership can trust.
Customers order online from across Nigeria. Every order is logged in our system.
Our delivery agents take products to customers and collect payment on delivery.
Each agent must remit the money they collected — accurately and on time.
You track, reconcile and document every naira, then report the true profit and loss.
This is hands-on ecommerce and logistics accounting. Your job is to make sure that not a single naira goes missing between the order and the bank — and that we always know whether we're making money after every cost is counted.
Follow every delivery agent's collections and make sure what they remit matches what they collected — with zero unexplained gaps.
Chase and confirm that money collected on delivery is remitted promptly, and flag any agent who falls behind.
Track which orders have been delivered, then confirm and mark each one as remitted so nothing slips through unaccounted.
Record all expenses accurately: advertising/ads spend, waybill, delivery charges per agent, product cost, and VAT and charges deducted by the bank.
Reconcile bank, POS and mobile-money statements against our records, catching and resolving every discrepancy.
Prepare and manage payroll for staff accurately and on schedule, keeping clean supporting records.
After all costs are counted, turn the daily numbers into a clear profit-and-loss assessment leadership can read at a glance.
Maintain clean, organised records and submit reports on schedule, every time — no chasing required.
You'll be in the office from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday — but the truth is the work doesn't stop at 5. In a pay-on-delivery business, a lot of remittances land late in the evening, so you'll often be reconciling late-night remittances and tracking what happened that day, and sometimes the previous day. Even after office hours, you'll still be checking figures, following up on agents, and making sure everything ties out before the next day begins.
We're being upfront about this on purpose: if you're not willing to stay on top of the numbers outside strict office hours, this role is not for you. But if you're the kind of person who can't sleep until the books balance, you'll fit right in.
You've done real, hands-on accounting — ideally in ecommerce, retail or logistics. This is not an entry-level role.
Confident building reports, statements and profit-and-loss summaries in Excel or Google Sheets.
You notice the ₦50 that's out of place and you don't rest until every figure reconciles.
You'll handle sensitive figures daily. Integrity is non-negotiable, and you can provide a credible guarantor.
Open to learning our systems, focused on outcomes, and ready to be held to a standard.
You enjoy solving complex accounting challenges and don't get rattled by a busy, high-volume day.
Willing to reconcile late-night remittances and keep tracking after hours when the day's figures demand it.
You want to build something and grow into greater responsibility as the company scales.
Your salary is a fixed ₦120,000 every month — not split, not conditional. On top of that, you earn a performance bonus whenever applicable, rewarding accuracy, reliability and results. Do the job well, and there's real upside as the company grows.
Own the day-to-day finances, remittance tracking, reconciliations and reporting.
Take on bigger financial responsibility and become a go-to for key decisions.
Build and lead the finance team as Promofy expands nationally and beyond.
